Hi, my name is Joan. So, when I was in college (a looong time ago) I did very well — mostly A’s. I took pride in being a good student. My one and only C was — you guessed it – a photography elective that I took.

So, of course I should start a camera website:-)

Honestly, that C always bothered me, but life happens and honing my photography skills was put on the back burner.

Then my grandson, Austin, was born. I now had a reason to pick up a camera and learn how to use it. There’s a lot to learn. What are the various parts? How do I troubleshoot if there’s a problem? What camera is best for portrait photography? How is photographing people different from shooting nature shots?

I have a lot to learn.

Did I mention that I’m a teacher? Yup, I teach high school social studies. So it’s natural for me to want to teach what I’m learning. Voila, teachcamerastalk was born!
